Frequently asked questions

At the heart of every vessel is authenticated archaeological earth recovered from the City of David - the ancient birthplace of Jerusalem. This earth is blended with natural earth from three distinctive landscapes of the Holy Land: Timna, the Ramon Crater, and the Negev Highlands. Each landscape contributes its own mineral character, natural tones, and visual depth.Together, these ancient sources form a memorial vessel rooted in the land, history, and biblical story of Jerusalem.

The City of David is the original ancient core of Jerusalem, located just south of the walls of the Old City and near the Temple Mount. It is associated with the Jerusalem of the biblical kings and remains one of the most significant active archaeological sites in the world. Its excavations continue to reveal structures, artifacts, and historical layers connected to Jerusalem’s ancient past.

HOLY EARTH works through an exclusive relationship with the City of David Foundation.Archaeological earth recovered during excavations in the City of David is transferred to the Emek Tzurim Sifting Project, where it is carefully sifted as part of the archaeological process.Following the sifting process, a designated portion of the authenticated archaeological earth is entrusted to HOLY EARTH for the creation of memorial vessels.HOLY EARTH does not conduct archaeological excavations and does not receive artifacts. We receive sifted archaeological earth through the City of David Foundation under a documented and carefully managed process.

Each vessel from the City of David Collection is accompanied by two documents:• A City of David Foundation Certificate of Authenticity confirming the archaeological origin of the City of David earth. • A HOLY EARTH Certificate of Origin bearing the individual serial number of the completed memorial vessel. The serial number connects each individual vessel to its documentation and provenance.

No.The earth is carefully sifted as part of the archaeological process before it is entrusted to HOLY EARTH.Artifacts and archaeologically significant objects remain under the authority and care of the appropriate archaeological institutions. HOLY EARTH receives sifted archaeological earth, not artifacts.

No.Archaeological earth from a protected and historically significant site is inherently limited and carefully managed. Its availability depends upon ongoing archaeological activity and the responsible decisions of the City of David Foundation. This limited origin is part of what makes every HOLY EARTH vessel rare and meaningful.
