Every sanctuary is accompanied by a signed and sealed Certificate of Authenticity. This document tracks the chain of custody beginning from the specific archaeological grid in Jerusalem all the way to our studio. This ensures that the earth is exactly what we promise: the literal foundation of the Holy Land.
In archaeology, the "Destruction Layer" represents a specific historical moment, in this case the ancient bedrock dating back to the Kingdom of Judah. This is not the surface soil; it is the very ground that witnessed the prayers of the Kings and the words of the Prophets.
The colors are a result of the earth's natural mineral composition. We utilize specific ratios of the Four Foundations, the "carousel" of colors is achieved through the manual guidance of the artisan. The heat of the tempering process is what draws out the unique and organic character of the minerals.
Each Holy Earth vessel is handcrafted from natural archaeological earth recovered from the City of David and blended with ancient desert sands from the Holy Land.
Because these materials are formed by nature rather than manufactured to uniform standards, every vessel will display its own unique colors, textures, markings, and surface variations. Subtle fissures, tonal differences, natural inclusions, and irregularities are to be expected and are not considered defects.
The photographs shown on this website represent actual vessels from the collection and are intended to illustrate the general appearance and character of the product. The vessel you receive will be uniquely its own.
Like the ancient earth from which it is formed, each vessel carries a distinct character shaped by time, nature, and human hands.
